Start is the first subchapter of Chapter 9: Farewell in Celeste. The subchapter returns the player to a location resembling the end of The Summit C-Side where Madeline goes to grieve the death of the Old Woman in the time passed since the previous chapter. She and Badeline briefly combine once again to allow for two mid-air dashes and the two go to space to follow the Bird, where Badeline splits from her and Madeline must continue on the moon-like atmosphere with only one dash. This environment is the first appearance of moon blocks.
Gameplay[]
The player starts by innocently going forward until seeing the Old Woman at the end of the long path. When approached, however, lightning strikes and the real scene appears of a downpour onto her grave. When the grave is interacted with, Madeline and Badeline will have some dialogue together and the Bird will be seen, then Badeline will combine with Madeline and conjure a purple orb past the ledge. This takes the player to the next room, where the Bird is flying upward and can be followed with a few white clouds. After entering another purple orb, Madeline and Badeline will chat again and the player will arrive in space. After slowly descending, Badeline will split from Madeline and the two argue before Badeline leaves, forcing Madeline to go onward with only one dash before landing. This last room has a few moon blocks to platform on while going to the right, then the next subchapter will be reached.
Strategies[]
Room 1
In this room, you just need to go to the right and interact with the grave, then after the dialogue you can enter the purple orb to the right and go to the next room.
Room 2
Bounce up the white clouds in this room, then do two straight upward dashes after bouncing on the last one to reach the purple orb, taking you to the next room.
Room 3
The platforming in this room won't be too complicated, jump run and jump to the right and do a diagonally up-right dash to get on the moon blocks you approach. Do this a few times, then once more to reach the final ledge and reach the end of the room and the subchapter.
